Rebecca Kukshtel
pronounced COOK-stel
Open to senior roles in agentic security & identity
Previously:
Backend engineer at Netflix, working on
authorization controls for agents.
Netflix had
layoffs in October,
and I was not so lucky.
I build authorization and identity systems: deciding who, and increasingly what, gets access to what. Most recently I helped ship Netflix's guardrails for AI agents, a policy layer that narrows what agents can do and never grants more, now enforcing over a million decisions a day.
Before that I designed Brex's authorization library and rebuilt its roles and access system, after years in FinTech, product security, and mobile. Eleven years in, I'm looking for my next hard problem: identity, credentials, and guardrails for AI agents.
I care about design patterns, well-factored code, and software that does something meaningful for end users.
Outside of work I read, gab, and spend as much time outside as I can.
